Jonah Saves Nineveh version 1.00 has "landed"!

Now that Jonah is on dry ground once again, in this endless runner your goal is to help him meet his primary mission of preaching God's saving message of repentance to the people of Nineveh. You need to do so before collecting the 7th scroll, running out of health, or falling to the sands below. Points are gathered as the game progresses so you can see if you can improve your score in future plays. The game is different each time because scenes are presented randomly.

The idea for this game came to me back on December 4, 2022 when I taught a Sunday school lesson to my kindergarteners and first graders that was essentially a biblical survey of the book of Jonah. At the end of the class we sometimes have time for a game where I'll split the class into a couple teams and ask questions about the lesson and the teams will earn points for correct answers. I thought it would've been nice to have a video game to play that tied in to the lesson where the kid's could play and get their video game points added to the team total.

My first thought was to do something with water, the boat, and/or the fish. But that seemed an almost cliché choice. So I eventually decided on Jonah being in Nineveh preaching God's saving message of repentance. After all, the narrative was largely focused on Jonah repenting himself, eventually obeying God's calling, and the people of Nineveh hearing and responding positively to God's message of repentance. And so after 3 months of work during some evenings and Saturdays, "Jonah Saves Nineveh" hath been wrought.

Although I'm working to develop skills, graphics are not my strong suit so most of the graphics used were from my Craftpix.net subscription with some from the wonderful Kenney.nl. While I do have a little musical talent and sound skills, to save time the music and sound came from my Zapsplat.com subscription.
